Independent label route

Finish the music. Build the release. Keep the identity.

Local Nomad Music is an independent label and studio environment for selected artists who need a connected route from creative development to a properly prepared release.

A submission begins a review. It does not create a contract, representation relationship or guaranteed release.

Independent by design

A label should serve the music, not absorb the artist.

The purpose of label support is to give a strong project structure, clarity and a realistic release route.

NOTE 01

The artist remains the creative source.

The label may question, organise and support the direction, but it should not manufacture an identity unrelated to the artist.

01
NOTE 02

The agreement must explain the real exchange.

Rights, services, costs, revenue participation, term, territory and responsibilities should be defined before release work begins.

02
NOTE 03

Release fewer projects with clearer purpose.

A selective catalogue creates more room for meaningful development, accurate preparation and consistent presentation.

03
NOTE 04

Do not promise outcomes nobody controls.

A label can organise release work and promotional activity, but it cannot guarantee streams, playlist placement, press or commercial success.

04

One release needs more than distribution.

Label support may connect creative development, technical production and release preparation within one coordinated project.

Artist and Project Development

Clarifying the release direction, strongest material, creative priorities and practical scope of the project.

Direction / repertoire / readiness

Studio Production

Recording, arrangement, editing, mixing and mastering where the selected music still requires technical development.

Record / produce / finish

Release Preparation

Final master delivery, metadata, credits, artwork formats and platform-ready organisation.

Master / metadata / delivery

Release
Rights before release

Good music does not cancel legal clarity.

Before any release, the involved parties should understand who owns, controls and is authorised to use every relevant part of the project.

Confirmed master recording ownership or authority Master
Correct songwriter and composition information Publishing
Permission for samples, remixes and third-party material Clearance
Approved artist, performer and production credits Metadata
Permission to use artwork, photography and visual assets Artwork
Written understanding of label and artist responsibilities Agreement
Any final agreement should be read carefully. Artists may obtain independent legal or professional advice before signing.
— Release rights checklist

A catalogue is a point of view.

The objective is not to release one identical genre. The catalogue should connect projects through intention, identity and creative care.

Format / Single

One Focused Track

A standalone release built around one strong song, one clear visual direction and one direct listening route.

Format / EP

A Connected Short World

A concise group of tracks sharing a creative period, sound, theme or collaborative identity.

Format / Album

A Complete Artistic Statement

A larger project requiring consistent production, sequencing, visual language and long-term release planning.

Format / Special

Live, Remix or Collaboration

A release route for selected live recordings, alternate versions and authorised creative collaborations.

What we listen for

We are not searching for a perfect biography.

The first review focuses on the music, the artist’s direction and whether Local Nomad can contribute something useful to the project.

Selection is discretionary. A strong track may still be unsuitable for the current catalogue, schedule or available resources.

Label notes

Before sending the record.

Does submitting music create a label agreement?

No. Submission only allows the material to be considered. Any relationship must be discussed and confirmed separately in writing.

Does Local Nomad require ownership of my music?

No single arrangement applies automatically. Ownership, licences and release rights depend on the specific written agreement proposed for the project.

Can I submit an unfinished demo?

Yes, when the musical direction is clear and you explain which recording, production or release support the project still needs.

Does the label guarantee Spotify playlists?

No. Playlist placement, editorial coverage, streams, press attention and commercial performance cannot be guaranteed.

Can Local Nomad release music already recorded elsewhere?

Potentially, provided the project fits the catalogue and the artist can confirm the necessary rights, files, credits and permissions.

Can I use studio services without joining the label?

Yes. Recording, production, mixing, mastering and release-preparation services can be discussed independently from label selection.

How many tracks should I submit?

Begin with one representative track. Include additional material only when it is necessary to understand the wider project.

Send the track that defines the direction.

Share one strong release, demo or private link and explain what kind of label or studio support the project needs.
