1. Scope of this Music Submission Policy

This Policy applies when you submit or provide access to music or related material through:

• the Local Nomad Music submission form;
• the general contact route;
• a private listening link;
• a requested cloud-storage or file-transfer link;
• a Spotify or SoundCloud profile;
• a label, studio or partnership enquiry;
• another submission method expressly approved by Local Nomad Music.

Submitted material may include:

• finished tracks;
• unreleased recordings;
• demos and work-in-progress versions;
• instrumentals and beats;
• mixes, masters, stems and multitracks;
• lyrics and compositions;
• artist biographies and project descriptions;
• cover artwork and photographs;
• credits, metadata and release information.

This Policy applies whether the submission is intended for label review, a studio service, platform consideration, a partnership or another stated purpose.

2. Related policies and agreements

This Music Submission Policy should be read together with:

• the Terms and Conditions;

• the Studio Booking Terms;
• any later recording, production, label, licensing, distribution or release agreement.

If Local Nomad Music and the submitter later enter a specific written agreement, that agreement will govern the relevant project where it expressly differs from this general Policy.

3. Submission routes

Submitters should select the route that most accurately reflects the purpose of the submission.

A submission sent through the wrong route may be redirected, delayed, archived or left without further review.

4. Who may submit music

A submission may be made by:

• the artist;
• a songwriter or composer;
• a producer or authorised collaborator;
• a manager or professional representative;
• a label, publisher or distributor;
• another person who has authority to provide the material for the selected purpose.

By submitting music, you represent that:

• you are legally capable of making the submission;
• you have authority to share the material;
• you have authority to provide the accompanying personal and project information;
• the selected submission purpose is accurate;
• you are not impersonating an artist, representative or rights holder.

Local Nomad Music may request reasonable confirmation of your identity, role or authority where the rights position is unclear.

5. Submissions involving minors

A person who has not reached the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction should involve a parent, legal guardian or authorised adult before making a professional music submission.

Where a submitted project includes a minor artist, writer or performer, the submitter should disclose that fact where it is relevant to:

• contracting authority;
• recording-session attendance;
• rights and permissions;
• publicity and image use;
• payment or revenue arrangements;
• future project discussions.

Local Nomad Music may require communication with an authorised adult before continuing a commercial, contractual or studio-related discussion.

6. Information required with a submission

A useful music submission should contain enough information to identify the material and understand the request.

Depending on the submission route, this may include:

• the artist or project name;
• the track or release title;
• the submitter’s name and role;
• a valid contact method;
• the artist’s location;
• the music genre or relevant creative context;
• one representative listening link;
• the current project stage;
• the intended release timing;
• the reason for submitting the material;
• known ownership, sample or rights issues;
• relevant public artist or project profiles.

Submissions may be difficult to assess where:

• the link is broken or access-restricted;
• the project is not identified;
• the requested action is unclear;
• the information materially conflicts with the linked profile;
• the submitter’s authority cannot be determined;
• essential ownership information is omitted.

7. Ownership, authority and submitter assurances

By submitting material, you represent that you either own the applicable rights or have sufficient authority from the relevant rights holders.

You must have the authority necessary to permit Local Nomad Music to perform the limited review and administrative activities described in this Policy.

You also represent that, to the best of your knowledge:

• the submission does not infringe another person’s copyright;
• the submission does not violate a contract, licence or exclusivity obligation;
• required co-writer and collaborator permissions have been obtained;
• the recording does not contain an unauthorised sample;
• the supplied artwork and photographs may lawfully be shared;
• the project information and credits are materially accurate;
• the material does not contain malware or harmful code.

If your authority is limited, conditional or disputed, you should explain the limitation before submitting the material.

8. Musical compositions and sound recordings

A submitted track may contain several separate legal interests.

8.1 Musical composition

The musical composition generally includes the underlying music, melody, harmony, structure and accompanying lyrics.

Composition rights may be held by:

• songwriters;
• composers;
• lyricists;
• music publishers;
• other persons receiving rights by agreement or law.

8.2 Sound recording

The sound recording is the specific recorded performance or production embodied in the audio file.

Rights in the sound recording may be held by:

• the recording artist;
• a record label;
• a producer or production company;
• a financier or project owner;
• another person identified by agreement or law.

8.3 Other rights

A submission may also involve:

• performer rights;
• producer rights;
• neighbouring or related rights;
• artwork and photography rights;
• name, image and publicity rights;
• contractual credit obligations;
• sample and beat licences.

The person submitting the track is responsible for understanding which rights they control and which rights require another party’s approval.

9. Samples, beats and third-party material

You should disclose any material that was not created entirely by the identified writers, performers and producers.

Third-party material may include:

• audio samples;
• interpolated melodies or lyrics;
• leased or purchased beats;
• stock loops and sample-library content;
• cover-song compositions;
• remixes and mashups;
• dialogue or film audio;
• artwork, photographs or video footage;
• generative-model outputs subject to third-party terms.

You remain responsible for determining whether a licence, clearance, attribution or other permission is required.

The fact that Local Nomad Music listens to, discusses, edits or works on a track does not mean that any sample, beat or third-party element has been legally cleared.

Local Nomad Music may decline, suspend or terminate review where the rights position creates an unacceptable legal or practical risk.

10. AI-generated and AI-assisted music

If artificial-intelligence tools were materially involved in creating the submission, the submitter should accurately disclose the nature of that involvement where it affects authorship, ownership, permissions or the intended project.

10.1 AI-assisted work

AI-assisted use may include:

• audio cleanup or restoration;
• stem separation;
• noise reduction;
• timing or tuning assistance;
• metadata or organisational support;
• creative suggestions reviewed and developed by human creators.

10.2 Generative material

Generative material may include AI-created:

• vocals or voice replicas;
• instrumentals;
• lyrics or melodies;
• artwork or photographs;
• performances imitating an identifiable person;
• substantial audio elements produced from a prompt.

10.3 Submitter responsibilities

The submitter is responsible for:

• reviewing the terms of the AI service used;
• determining whether commercial use is permitted;
• obtaining consent for cloned or simulated voices where required;
• not misrepresenting synthetic material as an authentic performance;
• not using AI outputs that unlawfully reproduce protected material;
• accurately identifying human writers, performers and producers;
• disclosing material limitations on ownership or exclusivity.

Local Nomad Music may reject submissions that contain undisclosed voice cloning, deceptive impersonation, unclear commercial rights or another unacceptable rights risk.

11. Listening links, downloads and physical media

11.1 Preferred submission format

Unless another format is specifically requested, submit one reliable streaming or private listening link that represents the project accurately.

The link should:

• open without requiring unknown software;
• remain available for a reasonable review period;
• avoid unnecessary download requirements;
• be controlled by the artist or an authorised party;
• not expose unrelated private files.

11.2 Downloadable files

Do not provide large downloads, session files, multitracks or raw assets unless they are requested or necessary for the selected studio service.

11.3 Passwords and private access

If a private link requires a password, provide only the password needed to access that specific material.

Do not submit:

• email-account passwords;
• streaming-account credentials;
• cloud-storage master passwords;
• payment credentials;
• authentication codes;
• unrelated private documents.

11.4 Physical submissions

Do not send CDs, vinyl records, USB devices, hard drives, printed press kits or other physical media unless Local Nomad Music expressly requests and approves the delivery.

Unrequested physical material may not be reviewed, stored or returned.

12. Confidentiality and unreleased material

Local Nomad Music may take reasonable care when handling private links and unreleased material, but an ordinary unsolicited submission is not automatically treated as confidential under a non-disclosure agreement.

Submitting music does not create:

• a fiduciary relationship;
• a formal duty of confidentiality beyond applicable law;
• an exclusive review arrangement;
• a restriction preventing Local Nomad Music from receiving similar material;
• a restriction on independent creative development.

Do not submit highly confidential business information, unreleased catalogues, access credentials or sensitive contract documents through the standard submission form.

If a project requires formal confidentiality, the parties should agree to appropriate written terms before detailed confidential material is disclosed.

13. Limited permission to review the submission

By submitting material, you grant Local Nomad Music a limited, non-exclusive and revocable permission to perform activities reasonably necessary to process the selected submission.

This limited permission may include:

• opening and playing the supplied link or file;
• temporarily storing submission information;
• making internal technical copies necessary for review;
• sharing the material with a relevant internal reviewer;
• sharing it with a contractor or professional adviser where reasonably necessary and appropriately controlled;
• contacting the submitter about the material;
• assessing whether a studio, label, platform or partnership discussion should continue;
• maintaining reasonable legal, security and administrative records.

This limited review permission does not authorise Local Nomad Music to:

• publicly release the music;
• distribute or sell the recording;
• license it to a third party;
• claim ownership of it;
• register the copyright in its own name;
• use it in advertising;
• train a public generative model with it;
• publish the submitter’s private information;
• create a public artist profile without authority.

14. No transfer of ownership

The submitter and existing rights holders retain the rights they lawfully hold in the submitted material.

A submission does not by itself transfer:

• master-recording ownership;
• copyright in a musical composition;
• publishing rights;
• performer rights;
• producer rights or royalties;
• trademark rights;
• artwork or photography rights;
• name, image or publicity rights.

Any later transfer, licence, option, distribution right, revenue share or release authority must be set out in an appropriate written agreement.

15. Submission review process

Local Nomad Music may review submissions according to factors relevant to the selected route.

These factors may include:

• the completeness of the submission;
• the quality and accessibility of the listening link;
• the current project stage;
• creative and technical relevance;
• available studio or project capacity;
• rights and ownership clarity;
• location and timing;
• the service requested;
• compatibility with an active label or platform route;
• business, legal and operational risk.

The review process is selective and may change according to current capacity, projects and priorities.

Local Nomad Music is not required to disclose:

• internal review criteria;
• reviewer identities;
• comparisons with other submissions;
• internal communications;
• commercial planning or unreleased project information.

16. No guaranteed response or review period

Local Nomad Music does not guarantee:

• that every submission will be opened;
• that every track will be heard in full;
• a response within a particular period;
• confirmation that a submission was rejected;
• individual feedback;
• ongoing communication after an initial response.

Submission volume, project capacity, broken links, rights concerns or an unsuitable route may prevent further review.

Do not make repeated duplicate submissions or send frequent follow-up messages unless material information has changed or a response was specifically requested.

17. Feedback, opinions and creative advice

Any feedback voluntarily provided during a preliminary submission review is general creative or professional opinion.

Unless a paid consultation or project agreement states otherwise:

• feedback is not a complete technical analysis;
• feedback does not constitute legal advice;
• feedback does not guarantee commercial results;
• Local Nomad Music is not required to provide revisions to the feedback;
• the submitter remains responsible for final creative decisions.

The submitter may use or disregard general feedback at their own discretion.

18. Similar music and independent development

Local Nomad Music may already be receiving, reviewing, producing or discussing music and creative projects that contain similarities to a submission.

Similarities may arise in:

• genre;
• tempo;
• instrumentation;
• song titles;
• themes and concepts;
• chord progressions;
• production techniques;
• visual direction;
• release strategies.

The submission does not prevent Local Nomad Music or another artist from independently developing or working with material that is not unlawfully copied from the submitter’s protected expression.

Similarity alone does not prove:

• access to the submission;
• copying;
• ownership;
• confidentiality;
• an obligation to compensate the submitter.

Nothing in this section authorises copyright infringement or misuse of confidential information governed by a separate valid agreement.

19. Acceptance, rejection and further discussion

19.1 Rejection or no response

A submission may be rejected, archived or left without a response for any lawful reason, including limited capacity, project mismatch, incomplete information or rights concerns.

19.2 Expression of interest

A message expressing interest does not by itself create a binding agreement.

Further steps may require:

• additional project information;
• a call or consultation;
• verification of rights and authority;
• delivery of higher-quality files;
• a quote or booking confirmation;
• a recording, production or label agreement;
• approval by additional rights holders.

19.3 Binding relationship

A binding professional or commercial relationship begins only when the relevant terms are clearly agreed by authorised parties.

20. Spotify and SoundCloud consideration

20.1 Independent platform control

Spotify and SoundCloud are independent third-party platforms that control their own:

• accounts and profiles;
• content availability;
• recommendation systems;
• playlist tools;
• moderation decisions;
• technical services;
• terms and privacy practices.

20.2 No playlist guarantee

A submission does not guarantee:

• addition to a Spotify playlist;
• Spotify editorial consideration;
• SoundCloud reposting;
• featured placement;
• a minimum number of streams or listeners;
• follower growth;
• algorithmic recommendation;
• continued availability on a third-party platform.

20.3 Platform compliance

Submitted music must comply with the applicable platform’s current rules, metadata requirements and rights policies.

Local Nomad Music is not responsible for platform removals, account restrictions, royalty calculations or independent platform decisions.

21. Label, studio and service discussions

If a submission appears relevant to a label, studio or professional service discussion, Local Nomad Music may request additional information.

A further discussion may concern:

• recording or production;
• mixing and mastering;
• release planning;
• distribution;
• licensing;
• catalogue development;
• artist or project partnerships.

No service is free merely because it follows a music submission.

Any proposed service or relationship may require agreement on:

• scope and deliverables;
• fees and expenses;
• rights and ownership;
• revenue or royalties;
• credits;
• release authority;
• territory and term;
• termination and file delivery.

22. Public use, artist profiles and promotion

Submitting music does not automatically give Local Nomad Music permission to publicly:

• release the track;
• publish a private demo;
• use the artist’s name or image in advertising;
• create an artist profile;
• publish a testimonial;
• include the project in a public case study;
• upload the track to Spotify, SoundCloud or another platform;
• license the material to another person.

Public use should be supported by:

• the submitter’s permission;
• a project-specific agreement;
• a valid licence;
• another lawful basis appropriate to the use.

Where material is already publicly available through an official artist profile, Local Nomad Music may link to or discuss that public material within the limits of applicable law and platform functionality.

23. Prohibited submissions

You must not submit material that:

• you do not own or have authority to share;
• contains malware, malicious code or harmful files;
• is knowingly fraudulent or materially misleading;
• unlawfully infringes copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
• contains undisclosed stolen recordings or impersonated performances;
• uses a cloned voice without required consent;
• contains unlawful threats, harassment or targeted abuse;
• contains unlawful sexual exploitation or abuse material;
• discloses private information without authority;
• is submitted to facilitate fraud or another illegal activity;
• contains unrelated passwords, payment details or access credentials;
• is sent repeatedly as spam.

Local Nomad Music may block, delete, report or preserve prohibited material where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance or the protection of affected persons.

24. Withdrawal and deletion requests

A submitter may request that a pending submission be withdrawn from further consideration.

The request should identify:

• the submitter;
• the artist or project;
• the submitted track;
• the approximate submission date;
• the link or contact method used.

A withdrawal request does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every record where information must be retained for:

• security and abuse prevention;
• legal claims;
• rights complaints;
• accounting or contractual records;
• proof that a privacy or withdrawal request was handled;
• temporary backup cycles.

Where a separate project agreement has already been formed, withdrawal and deletion rights may also be governed by that agreement.

25. Copyright and rights complaints

If you believe material submitted to or used by Local Nomad Music infringes your rights, contact Local Nomad Music with a clear description of the issue.

A useful complaint should identify:

• the complaining person or authorised representative;
• the protected work or right involved;
• the allegedly infringing material;
• where the material can be located;
• the basis of the ownership or authority claim;
• the requested action;
• supporting information reasonably necessary to assess the complaint.

Do not knowingly submit a false infringement notice, ownership claim or takedown request.

26. Privacy, internal sharing and retention

Personal and project information submitted through the Website may be processed to:

• maintain reasonable legal and administrative records.

A submission may be shared with a limited number of relevant:

Information should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the applicable review, project, legal, security and administrative purposes.

27. Submitter responsibility and limitation of liability

The submitter remains responsible for:

• the legality of the submission;
• the accuracy of ownership and credit information;
• required collaborator permissions;
• sample, beat and artwork licences;
• the security of the original project files;
• maintaining independent backups;
• compliance with third-party platform rules;
• decisions made after receiving general feedback.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Local Nomad Music is not responsible for:

• a rejected or unanswered submission;
• the expiration or failure of a submitter-controlled link;
• loss caused by the submitter’s failure to keep backups;
• third-party platform decisions;
• anticipated streams, revenue, publicity or commercial opportunities;
• conflicts between writers, artists, producers or other rights holders;
• rights problems created by undisclosed third-party material.

Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

28. Changes to this Music Submission Policy

Local Nomad Music may update this Policy to reflect changes in:

• submission forms and routes;
• studio or label services;
• Spotify, SoundCloud or other platform functionality;
• AI-assisted music practices;
• copyright, privacy or contract requirements;
• review and retention procedures.

A later revision does not automatically change a separate written agreement already entered into for an accepted project.
