  • a private project link has been disclosed without permission;
  • an unauthorised person has accessed project material;
  • your identity or account is being misused.

We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Website, project materials or other users.

7. Music submissions

7.1 Submission routes

The Website may allow you to submit music for label review, studio services, Spotify consideration, SoundCloud discovery, editorial assessment or another stated purpose.

You should use the correct submission route and provide accurate information about:

  • the artist and track name;
  • the current stage of the recording;
  • the requested review or service;
  • your authority to submit the material;
  • relevant writers, performers, samples and rights holders.

7.2 No guaranteed outcome

A music submission does not guarantee:

  • a response;
  • detailed feedback;
  • a label offer or recording agreement;
  • Spotify playlist inclusion;
  • SoundCloud reposting or promotion;
  • publication, editorial coverage or review;
  • free production, mixing or mastering;
  • distribution, release or commercial success.

7.3 Similar material

Local Nomad Music may already be developing, reviewing or receiving music, concepts, titles, styles and creative ideas that resemble your submission.

Similarity alone does not establish copying, confidentiality, ownership or an obligation to compensate you. Your specific protected material remains subject to applicable copyright law and any written agreement.

7.4 Additional submission terms

Music submissions are also governed by the Music Submission Policy.

8. Studio requests and bookings

8.1 Booking requests

A date, service or session submitted through the Website is a request only. It does not reserve studio time or create a confirmed booking.

8.2 Booking confirmation

A booking is confirmed only after Local Nomad Music or the applicable studio has expressly confirmed the relevant:

  • service and project scope;
  • location or remote format;
  • date, time and time zone;
  • participants and technical requirements;
  • price, deposit and payment terms;
  • cancellation and rescheduling conditions;
  • expected files, revisions and delivery.

8.3 Partner studios

A city-based recording request may involve an independent studio, engineer, producer or contractor. Their venue rules, safety requirements, equipment policies and additional terms may also apply.

8.4 Preparation

You are responsible for providing accurate project information and preparing the files, lyrics, arrangements, performers, instruments and reference material reasonably required for the session.

Additional terms are available in the Studio Booking Terms.

9. Project-specific agreements

Recording, production, mixing, mastering, label, distribution, licensing and release projects may require a separate written agreement.

A project-specific agreement may address:

  • services and deliverables;
  • creative responsibilities and approval;
  • project schedule and milestones;
  • fees, deposits, expenses and payment timing;
  • revision limits and additional work;
  • master-recording ownership;
  • composition and publishing rights;
  • producer, performer and collaborator credits;
  • licensing, distribution and release rights;
  • revenue participation or royalties;
  • confidentiality and portfolio permissions;
  • termination, cancellation and file delivery.

No project-specific right, transfer, licence, royalty or revenue share should be assumed unless it is confirmed in writing.

10. Prices, quotes and payments

10.1 Quotes

Prices may depend on project size, session length, location, participants, technical requirements, revisions, delivery formats and third-party costs.

A quote is valid only for the stated project, services and validity period. Changes to the project may require a revised quote.

10.2 Deposits and advance payments

A deposit or advance payment may be required before studio time, production work or another service is reserved or started.

The applicable confirmation or project agreement should state whether a payment is refundable, partially refundable or non-refundable.

10.3 Additional work

Work outside the agreed scope may require additional payment. Examples may include:

  • additional recording time;
  • extra revisions;
  • new arrangement or production requests;
  • replacement files or re-exporting;
  • rush delivery;
  • third-party studio, musician or equipment costs.

10.4 Taxes and required charges

Applicable taxes, government charges or clearly disclosed third-party costs may be added where required or included in the final quoted price.

10.5 Late or failed payments

Where payment is overdue or fails, Local Nomad Music may pause work, withhold delivery, cancel unconfirmed future work or exercise other rights available under the applicable agreement and law.

11. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

Cancellation, rescheduling and refund rights depend on:

  • the type of service;
  • whether work has started;
  • whether studio time or third-party services were reserved;
  • the notice provided;
  • non-recoverable costs already incurred;
  • the applicable booking confirmation or project agreement;
  • mandatory rights available under applicable law.

Failure to attend a confirmed session, late arrival or inability to provide required files may affect the available studio time and refund eligibility.

Detailed rules are provided in the Refund and Cancellation Policy and Studio Booking Terms.

12. Local Nomad Music intellectual-property rights

Unless otherwise stated, the Website and its original content are owned by or licensed to Local Nomad Music.

Protected Website content may include:

  • downloadable resources;
  • software, code and technical components.

You may view and use the Website for lawful personal or professional evaluation. You must not reproduce, republish, sell, license, distribute, modify or commercially exploit protected Website content without permission or another lawful basis.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Local Nomad Music trademarks, copyrights or other intellectual property to you.

13. User content and submitted materials

13.1 Your ownership

You retain the rights you lawfully hold in music, recordings, lyrics, artwork, photographs, messages, portfolios and other materials you submit.

13.2 Limited submission licence

By submitting material through the Website, you grant Local Nomad Music a limited, non-exclusive permission to access, store, reproduce internally and review that material as reasonably necessary to:

  • process the selected submission or enquiry;
  • assess a proposed service or collaboration;
  • communicate with you;
  • provide an agreed project;
  • maintain security, backup and legal records.

This limited permission does not authorise public release, commercial distribution, advertising use, model training or public portfolio use unless separately permitted.

13.3 Your assurances

You represent that:

  • you own or are authorised to submit the material;
  • the submission does not knowingly violate another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity, contract or other rights;
  • required collaborator, sample and third-party permissions have been obtained or accurately disclosed;
  • the information accompanying the submission is materially accurate;
  • the material does not contain malicious software or unlawful content.

13.4 Public use

Artist profiles, case studies, testimonials, cover artwork, audio examples and project credits should be published only where appropriate permission, contractual authority or another valid legal basis exists.

14. AI-assisted and automated tools

Local Nomad Music may use artificial-intelligence-assisted or automated tools as a technical support layer for activities such as:

  • audio analysis, editing, repair or restoration;
  • file organisation and metadata support;
  • spam, security and abuse detection;
  • workflow planning and administrative tasks;
  • drafting or classification subject to human review.

AI-assisted tools do not automatically replace artist approval, human creative direction or project-specific rights agreements.

Project files will not be intentionally used to train a public generative model unless that use has an appropriate legal and contractual basis.

AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, artefacts or inappropriate suggestions. Final creative and technical decisions remain subject to human review.

15. Third-party platforms and services

The Website may contain links, embeds or integrations involving Spotify, SoundCloud, social networks, cloud-storage providers, payment services and other third parties.

Third-party services:

  • operate independently from Local Nomad Music;
  • may require separate accounts;
  • may apply their own terms and privacy policies;
  • may change, restrict or remove content or functionality;
  • may collect information when you interact with their services.

Local Nomad Music does not control third-party availability, recommendation systems, moderation, playlist decisions, account actions or technical performance.

A link or embed does not necessarily constitute endorsement of every statement, service or policy maintained by the third party.

16. Editorial and educational content

Blog articles, guides, explanations and other editorial content are provided for general informational and educational purposes.

Editorial content does not constitute:

  • legal advice;
  • tax or accounting advice;
  • financial or investment advice;
  • a guarantee of streaming or commercial results;
  • a substitute for professional project-specific advice;
  • a binding recommendation to use a product, platform or service.

Music-industry practices, platform rules, software features and legal requirements can change. You should verify information that materially affects your rights, costs or release decisions.

16.1 Sponsored and commercial content

Where editorial content is sponsored, paid, promotional or contains an applicable commercial relationship, an appropriate disclosure should be provided.

17. Website and service disclaimers

The Website is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, Local Nomad Music does not guarantee that:

  • the Website will always be available or error-free;
  • every form submission will be received or reviewed;
  • all content will always be complete, current or suitable for your specific purpose;
  • a requested studio date or service will be available;
  • a music submission will receive a response;
  • a release will achieve streams, revenue, press, playlist placement or commercial success;
  • third-party links, platforms or embedded players will remain available;
  • files transmitted through the internet will be completely secure.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Creative results vary. Recording, production, mixing, mastering and release outcomes depend on the source material, performance, project decisions, available time, technical conditions and agreed scope.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Local Nomad Music will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive or consequential loss arising solely from use of the public Website.

This may include loss arising from:

  • Website interruption or technical errors;
  • lost opportunities or anticipated revenue;
  • third-party platform decisions or outages;
  • unauthorised use of credentials caused by your failure to protect them;
  • reliance on general editorial information without appropriate professional advice;
  • materials or links submitted by another user;
  • failure to follow project preparation or file-delivery requirements.

Any liability relating to a paid project may be governed by the applicable quote, booking confirmation or project-specific agreement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or another category that cannot legally be excluded.

19. Responsibility for third-party claims

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims, losses or reasonable costs arising from:

  • material you submit without the required rights or authority;
  • your material breach of these Terms;
  • your unlawful or fraudulent use of the Website;
  • your infringement of another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity, contract or other rights;
  • false or materially misleading information provided by you;
  • your unauthorised use of a private project area or third-party account.

This section does not require you to compensate Local Nomad Music for losses caused by Local Nomad Music’s own unlawful conduct or to the extent such an obligation would be unenforceable.

20. Suspension and termination

Local Nomad Music may restrict, suspend or terminate access to the Website or a submission route where reasonably necessary because of:

  • a material violation of these Terms;
  • suspected fraud, spam or security abuse;
  • copyright or rights-related complaints;
  • unauthorised access attempts;
  • legal or regulatory requirements;
  • technical maintenance or service discontinuation;
  • risk to users, systems or project materials.

Termination of Website access does not automatically cancel payment, confidentiality, ownership, licence or other obligations that are intended to survive termination.

21. Governing law and dispute resolution

21.1 Informal resolution

Before beginning formal proceedings, you are encouraged to contact Local Nomad Music and provide a clear description of the dispute and the resolution requested.

21.2 Governing law

Unless a project-specific agreement provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable in California, United States, without giving effect to conflict-of-law principles.

21.3 Courts and venue

Subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction available under applicable consumer law, disputes concerning these Terms may be brought before a court with lawful jurisdiction in California.

21.4 Mandatory rights

Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of mandatory rights or access to a court or authority that cannot lawfully be restricted by contract.

22. Changes to these Terms

Local Nomad Music may update these Terms to reflect changes in:

  • the Website and its forms;
  • studio, label and submission services;
  • technology and third-party platforms;
  • business practices;
  • applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Where a material change requires additional notice or consent, Local Nomad Music will take reasonable steps to provide it.

Changes do not retroactively replace a separately signed project agreement unless that agreement permits the change or the parties agree otherwise.

23. General provisions

23.1 Entire Website agreement

These Terms and the policies incorporated by reference form the general agreement concerning use of the public Website. They do not replace a valid project-specific agreement.

23.2 Severability

If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

23.3 No waiver

A failure or delay in enforcing a provision does not automatically waive the right to enforce it later.

You may not transfer your obligations under these Terms where doing so would materially affect Local Nomad Music without prior permission.

Local Nomad Music may transfer Website-related rights and obligations as part of a lawful business reorganisation, merger, financing or sale, subject to applicable law.

Use of the Website, a contact message or a music submission does not create an employment, agency, partnership, fiduciary, management or joint-venture relationship.
